Other research institutes focus on the near future. however we look further ahead into the far future. Paradoxically, this is the future that it is closer to our concerns. In our research, we look five to ten years ahead, or even further into the future.

We believe we can create the future. We don't just predict it; we create it ourselves. We use our rich imagination to envision what kind of society awaits us. Then, we begin to see what kinds of technology and concepts this future will require, what will be of value in the future, or what we call "future values." Our mission is to create future values. To do this, we need to acquire several core competencies and our research is aimed at developing them.

We set our standards high. In fact, our research goals are deliberately ambitious and difficult to achieve, and often seem almost impossible. But tackling those difficult, challenging subjects opens up the future and eventually brings our goals within reach. "Your Vision, Our Future" is Olympus' corporate slogan, and at The Future Creation Laboratory, it is reflected in our mission.
